Default Electric diagram under selector panel

Hi,

Firstly g'day I'm new to this Volvo forum, I've recently bought a 2003 XC90 2.5T inherited a few problems but I've fallen in love with the car so I shall endeavour to fix and keep her forever : )

I thought I would perform a Simple task today to replace the faux leather gear gaiter : ( but while pulling up the gear selector knob I managed to wrench out two of the four electrical connections from the grey connector behind and under the gear selector and plate, which one goes where ?? anyone have a diagram ?

I also now have the message " gear selector reduced function " : ( damn I wish I had left the manky gear gaiter boot alone : )

Any help would be great with a picture or two,

Andrew

Hi,

You are not alone - have done this type of things many times! At least once sorted you will know a little more about the car.
I have found 2 pictures - not very clear I'm afraid but from memory there is just the one ribbon cable attached to the gaiter surround.

Thank you,

I still have the ribbon attached/intact but I have two sets of black sheathed wires, two wires in each and one set is connected directly behind the gear shift housing between cup holder but two ( one green wire and one black wire ) has come unattached and I don't know where they go : (
