XC70: Stereo/SatNav/Phone - Radio just hissing

Picked up a second hand XC70 on Saturday and the radio HU850 will not pick up FM at all.

Tried the booster box at the back under the right hand light cluster and makes no difference whether its connected or not and even tried another one off ebay.

Apparently there is another one located somewhere for FM2 anyone any idea where that is located.

Is the aerial on the rear window connected?

Good evening.

Appears a common known intermittent fault with the HU850, FM channels show on the display, but no sound. AM and CD's o.k. When the FM channels are working, occasionally the AM channels don't.

There are several threads on here, suggesting swopping the unit, or replacing with an aftermarket unit.

I have discussed it with my local Volvo specialist, he suggests sending it to repairer who specialises in them, costs about £300 though!
