Modified Volvo 340 GLT
Hi i was pointed towards this forum by one of your administrators after he saw my car.
So this is my car. It started out as a 340 DL but now wears the GLT badge as it is top spec after i swapped loads of bits from a doner 360 GLT. The car is polybushed as much as is available, it runs adjustable spax dampers on the back and 40mm lowering blocks, it runs Cut down GLT springs on the front. It has a custom made twin side exit exhaust system, which is 2" from downtube back. It has a modified interior from a 340 Redline to fit the 3door which mine is. It has all auxillary gauges including a mod to take 3 gauges in the centre panel. It also has a 140mph speedo mod. It has custom made front and rear strut braces and a custom filter box to run a K & N. The car is sitting on 440 six spoke alloys with Toyo tyres. The car has been smoothed on the sides by removing the rubbing strips. The font valance is a repro of the genuine volvo one with an added spoiler underneith. The car also has a rare snowcap i got from a friend in Finland, that is the bonnet scoop. All work has been carried out by myself at my grandfathers garage. I am currently upgrading the brakes for my college project. I laso have a 1.7 turbo lump from a 440 to go in when the insurance lets me!!! Thanks for reading Adam |

Looking as good as ever. It would be nice to get some of our 300's to one of the owners club meets.

In terms of lowering, you need to drop the front using shorter coil springs which are available from a variety of sources. The rear uses leaf springs, and in the absence of lowering versions, you use lowering 'blocks' (like on an old escort), which relocate the axle an inch or two above the spring, lowering the body.
