I have recently acquired a 2000 V70 T5. Reg is T5 BYF. I'm just wondering if anyone knows it's history or has any information regarding it. According to the Mot website it appears to have had a new DIM with a lower mileage and someone has scraped the side of it.

Unless if you have honest previous owners, you'll never find out.

If something is damaged then repaired, then its assumed good as new and forgotten about.

You could try one of those paid car reports but it wouldnt tell you much if anything.

How much service history / recipts have you got for the vehicle ?

Can't help you with the history, but if you get it hooked up to vida you can find out its true mileage (ok kilometreage) from the ECU data.

Now that missing 80,000 sends alarm bells ringing unless it`s had its clocks changed at some point

If you take it to a Volvo dealer they'll be able to tell you about dealer service history at least.

I think the clocks have been changed at some point but there aren't any strange dim things going on. There aren't any significant damage repairs. Just need to replace the alternator.

Was just wondering if anyone on here knew anything.
