It means you have an ABS fault, you'll need a code read to see what's causing it. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Could be anything from reluctor rings, to sensor, to BCM fault (search BCM-0070).

+1 on all the above .Many posts about this frequent fault on the forum. If you want to find out all about it ,read Mid West ABS Repair online ,who explains it all very well.First stop is to get the codes read which should /may point you in the right direction .Read Mid West ,investigate, and let us know how you get on.
Welcome to the forum by the way .We will be able to advise when you have found out a few more facts towards diagnosis

Steering angle sensor is also a common culprit. If that is the case a software update may just sort it out. The parameters were changed. Unless of course the sensor has an internal fault in which case new one required. As others have said needs to have codes read

Mine sometimes gives this warning if I have left the car parked on full lock
has done it for 4 years now I just turn off and restart it then gives the temporarily off warning and a 1/2 mile all ok and then remember to park in an orderly fashion

This a very common problem. Our 2005 model started doing this a while ago and it comes on sometimes when starting off on hard right lock. Restarting the engine always clears it to the temporarily off condition and then it goes.

I thought it might be something to so with wet weather but maybe that's just a non-causal association.

I had the software upgraded at the last service and the steering centred spot on, but it still comes on sometimes.

Not worth worrying about I think unless it's on all the time.
