Default C70 tuning tips required

Hi guys,
Am quite new to volvos & not long ago bought a W reg C70 T5 auto with 79k on the clock and i love it bits.
Thing is now i've got the tuning bug again....told the wife i was buying this car so i did'nt need to do anything to it...but you guys know how it is!!!!
What i'm after is some ideas on a few sensible(not too expensive)mods.
Been looking on this & other forums but am completely baffled.
Was thinking of an induction kit or air filter, spark plugs, leads etc.....
Got about £150-200 to play with so any ideas will be more than welcome.
Hopefully in the future will get an ecu remap but until then.......

cheers guys

Well to be totally honest you have bought the wrong car for cheap tuning, the W T5 is not a car that takes to inductions kits or boost valves, these are tried and tested on the >98 cars 99> remaps are the choice and cost upwards of £400, depending on supplier, performance exhausts are around the £300 mark for Feritta or Miltek,
The leads you do not have leads, only thing i can think of with £150-£200 is a ITG filter for £40 odd, and some DS2500 pads to aid stopping,

All the best Gary,

Hi

There is an Volvo Ignition System Stage 0 Kit for sale on ebay for £155 ONO that could be a good start and then maybe look at an ITG pannel filter.

Happy modding

Hi

I go with Siam blue - panel filter (or just change the paper one more regularly).

Other option is to look into handling; use all of the power available before getting more.

Save up for a remap, the BSR should do you nicely.

Chris

if this is the kit sold by volvo-tuning, it will only be of use on a pre me7 controlled vehicle....
as gary and chris have said before these cars are very reluctant to bolt on mods, so i would recomend you save your money for a ecu remap.....
cheers

I have a C70 T5 that I love to bits.

Personally for £200 ish, I'd get a set of Eibach Sports Springs (the Pro Kit will give a front and rear 20mm drop). They cost about £180 to buy + fitting.

However, power wise, I would do nothing and save up towards a RICA remap to take it to about 304bhp and god knows how much torque

Hi.

I've had RICA 304 and 340 and a 19T. Only got 260 odd bhp. MTE has given me 275bhp.

Go for suspension though, do springs and shocks and all the other assocaited bits n bobs (bushes, top monuts) to save you hassle in the future.
