Electrical: Mobile Phone Charger

Can anyone recommend any good car mobile phone chargers?

I've just bought a Samsung S21 Ultra which rates at a max of 25W.
I have a Huawei P30 Pro, which is a max of 40W but I'm not sure if you can get any chargers that are rated for these watts that won't drain the battery (they'll only be used while driving anyway).

I currently have a OnePlus 12v charger but not sure what the max W this rates at - I thought it was quick but it isn't :/ (Unless OnePlus only charges quick on a OnePlus phone).

Basically, I am fairly lost when it comes to this sort of thing!

In my current car (not a Volvo) I charge my phone using the USB cable connected to the Infotainment system port. When I get my new Volvo I plan to do exactly the same.

Just because a phone can charge at a higher rate doesn't mean you have to.

I've got this plugged into the rear of the centre console (rear passenger 12v one). Powers my Samsung 21 ultra fine even when using the tomtom app. Also powers up the misses iphone and some other stuff in the boot without issues all at the same time.

Not suggesting you buy from there but if you look on fleabay there is any gods amount of 'fast' chargers - they just plug into an aux supply and have usb sockets. If you buy a named,known brand you should be fine. As to draining the car battery, the comparative size of a mobile phone battery in relation to the battery in your car should give you some indication that it would take a very, very long time to flatten it.

No, but there are a small amount of situations where I may need more power fast :P
For example, if I have forgotten to charge my phone the night before and heading out for the day.

If you can't charge in the car, get a small power bank. Maybe you'll forget to keep that charged as well though. If you can't live without your phone for a couple of hours while it is charging then I'm sorry for you. PS I don't own a smart phone.

In my current car, if I have the phone plugged in for an hour during a commute then it seems to charge the phone sufficiently to last the rest of the day (until I charge it again on the commute home).

If you are worried about you phone flattening your battery, then get a larger battery. I lived in my LDV van for a week, and didn't run the engine during that time. The battery kept my phone charged, also my bluetooth speakers and headphones, and my video camera - all that was via usb chargers. It started the 2.5 litre diesel engine when I needed to move as well.

I can never understand why people buy the lowest capacity battery they can. It's only an extra £20 or £30 to get the highest capacity for the form factor of your car/van, and it gives you so much more flexibility.
