Smile S40 change seats

I recently own a Volvo S40 1.9D from 2003, the phase 1, and I have a seat broken and I don't really like the ones that the cars originally have, so the question is if I can put the ones from a S40 T4 and if I can which year have to be from the T4.
Sorry for the bad english 😅

A 2003 will be a phase 2, phase 1 cars were from 1996 to 2000 I think, but yes, all phase 2 seats are interchangeable as far as I know, I've just put leather seats into my 2002 t4 from another V40 from later in 2002 and everything was fine, the only difference will be if your car has heated seats or not.

It also depends on the spec as well, as the SE and Sport Lux models have an electric drivers seat, these would be incompatible if you don't have this.

Other than that, and the heated seat issue that Clarkey mentioned, any seats should fit

The car that the leather seats came out of for the T4 was a 52 plate SE, and those weren't electronic, or heated, despite the car having the heated seat switches on the dash, my t4 wasn't heated or electric and the SE leathers had the exact same amount of connectors as the old ones, I was expecting to have a connector left over on the new seats for the heated bit but there wasn't, weird.

My Sport Lux doesn't have an electric drivers seat. The electric seat was a £500 standalone optional extra - £1000 for both front seats.

Heated seats were part of the winter pack that also included headlamp wash and wipe and interior floor mats.

Thanks to all of you! I will search for the seats in my zone (there aren't many T4 in Spain so it will be a bit difficult) if I found some affordable ones I will post it here and tell how they fit. Again thank you all!!

Don't get too obsessed with T4 seats. The seats need to be from a phase 2 car - roughly between 2001 -2004. There are only two types of seat, cloth or leather and leather seats will either be heated or not. I suspect that is not too much of an issue in Spain.

I'd agree, as I took my non leather seats out of the T4 to fit the SE leather ones, they are infinitely more comfortable.

Interesting, seen a spec from 2003 that said it was standard for SE and Sport Lux models.

My Sport Lux has them
