V70 air conditioning
After replacing ac compressor with a 2nd hand one everything seemed fine.
However after 3 mnths compressor now only works intermittently and switches off after a short time and then comes back on and again off/on after approx 30 seconds. Any help appreciated |

If the refrigerent is low you should be able to hear the click on the clutch regularly. Note the air con is a single point fill, this throws some garages. I think this means they just connect one hose from the filler system.

If a dye was added with the refrigerant a UV lamp can be used to detect any leaks.

just topping up refrigerant is a waste of time and money imho. It can also cause problems if they do it without adding the correct oil.
Any A/C place should do vacuum and pressure tests and replace the refrigerant AND oil, as well as putting dye in. if it hasnt been done you probably need a new dryer. |

RE: V70 air conditioning
HI further to earlier details
the clutch can be heard operating when AC switched on but disengages and then clicks in again every 30 seconds or so might also add that this is also ECC not just straight AC think the first thing I will try is regassing with a dye to see if there any leaks to go much further is very expensive unless you can do the work yourself which is how 2nd hand compressor was fitted with help from thermoking trailer fitter for the regassing Ken |
