I am after a instrument cluster For my 1990 740 GLE.

Is anyone braking a 740 and happens to have a working one for sale ?

Thanks in advance.

Steve, what's wrong with your cluster?

So the speedo is all OK, well that's a miracle ... never get rid of a working VDO one as is like hen's teeth!!

If the two gauges just flicker anywhere and give random readings I would first remove the cluster and clean up the muliplugs and their sockets.

If no result the the solder joints on the small pcb's behind the gauges on both can be problematic on VDO's (more so the fuel gauge) after all this length of time. You can take them out to inspect/do the job. A suspect sender in the fuel tank is also a possibility you can check the signal. I would also check that the temp.sender on the engine block is OK.
