Do you have the ground loop because of using iMIV with the Bluetooth module, or is the problem there with just the iMIV installed?

Is the iMIV an older version, with the ground loop being fixed in the current revision?

I have both iMIV and Marek's Bluetooth module on order and am looking to use them both at the same time; iMIV for video and audio (Apple TV with AirPlay from my iPhone), and the Bluetooth module for phonecalls. Will this cause any issues or compromises?

disconnecting of iPOD cable with BT module from IMIV don't stop ground loop problem. But don't worry, it could be problem just in my car, and also i have different version of iMIV than you are ordering.

My iMIV LE+ has been bought 2016.

If you are not planning to use BT module of Marek for Audio, you don't need to connect it to HU. It's using headrest speaker for phone calls

- Bluetooth: Faster searching some paired device if last device not found.
- Bluetooth: If dual mode is enabled then the second device is also saved. So after the power on both devices are reconnect (if found).
Fixed
- Bluetooth: Stop the contacts readout and disconnect the device after the PHM goes sleep.

Default PHM w/ VOC Internals, MY06

I have dismantled a PHM from a UK MY06 car in order to find out more about how On Call is implemented as there is so little technical information about it available online.

Casing off:

Underside of GSM modem:

The GSM module has a 2FF mini-SIM slot on the underside, with a UK Vodafone SIM inserted from the factory. This is what facilitates the On Call functionality. I do not know if the module is locked to this particular SIM or if the VOC infrastructure expects all VOC requests to come via this SIM only.

I have an old Ericsson T28 that I'll be putting this ancient 2G SIM into to see what can and can't be called/SMS'ed with it.

More images of the modem, it's a Wavecom WISMO Quik Q2406A-C:

Reverse of main PCB:

Motorola GPS module and keypad PCB:

Very sturdy die-cast alloy frame:

Another interesting point is there being no sign of a mic/speaker in the PHM, contrary to much of the information available online.

Also, all visible capacitors are solid so should last much longer than the mix of solid and electrolytic in the '00-'05 pre-facelift PHM units.

I'm looking forward to hearing how this works out for you as I'm looking to do the same!

Received my unit a couple of weeks back and just got round to installing it.

I'm not very patient when it comes to software and the like but after a bit of faffing and swearing and more faffing and swearing I managed to figure it out and it's all updated.

Just got to figure out how to change the settings and stuff now.

Have to say - I'm very impressed. Call quality for both me and the other party is no different than from the original PHM and the music streaming works great.

Pleased to have the PHM keypad functionality beck.

Only issue is I now get On Call service required message in the display. I wonder if it's because I disconnected the backup battery or if it's because I removed the on call modem and SIM.

I'll have to see if it's possible for the garage to disable on call in the settings with VIDA.

Quick update on this.

The car has stopped reporting On Call service required.

I'm chuffed as I've been working my way through the fault codes one by one and the only one left now is the alarm service which I'll sort out in the next month or two.
