Shocking video Timesonline today - handbrake turns M62
Shocking video in The Times online today of a driver doing handbrake turns on the M62 after a row with his girlfriend, he then attacked a policeman. He has received a two year driving ban, fines and has to resit an extended driving test when his ban is over. He was given a two-year conditional discharge because he is about to start a new job, how convenient! Personally I think a 2 year ban is NOT enough, bearing in mind he has previous convictions for drink driving and disorderly behaviour, five years minimum might have proved a bit more of a deterrent to him in the future

should of locked the idiot up, if anyone had hit him, it would of been death by dangerous driving, just because people managed to avoid him doesnt mean he should get a lesser sentance

I saw that on autocar last night, can't believe he got away with it!! (my comments about the guy would just be ********** on here, so I won't bother). Now I wonder how many people would get away with doing 100 on a dry clear night with no other traffic on the road?

I got caught doing 90 in a 50 at 01:00 on a clear night with no traffic whatsoever on the way to work but as it was a speed camera rec'd a 3 month ban . Thats British Justice for you .

You should have been banned for longer , that is just crazy driving no matter what time of the day or conditions .

It's a little fast, but I don't think any of us can pass judgement as we don't know what the road was like, why was it crazy if it was a straight dual carriageway with nothing else on it?

On a straight quiet country dual carriageway with no traffic on a clear night , granted it wasn't a motorway but as the only road user at that time are you saying that I should have stuck to the speed limit , I always thought you drove to the conditions .
