V70 estate courtesy light
Anyone know how you take off the plastic cover that surrounds the rear courtesy light in the v70 estate please?
Its the one right at the back window in the centre on the roof I know how to get the actual light lens off but not the cover surrounding it Need to hide some wiring for a rear dashcam |

the one at the tailgate?
pop the light out, 1 x torx screw underneath, plastic trim then pops off with a bit of persuasion be careful they can be a bit brittle |

just an additional note/query(?) about rear dashcam wiring
might be useful to others as well anyway it's possible (? but not sure) if you hack into the back of the boot ciggy lighter power the canbus may detect the drain and constantly show "rear power socket in use" on your dash which I would find annoying. also it isn't ignition switched I don't think also fault messages may be displayed if you use the main lighting circuits for an easy supply if you look by the spare wheel well right up against the rear bumper you should see a connector just hanging there (the tow connector) and if you splice into the right cables (which can be detected with a volt meter) then you'll find one of them is a switched live (side lights) and you won't get any notifications about that being in use. I know this because it's how I switch on my sub amp similarly one of them is reversing lights and you can use that as an un-monitored trigger for reversing camera signal Last edited by stuart bowes; Aug 26th, 2022 at 09:58. |
