Default Volvo V40 Engine Undertray

Hi all thanks for looking.

I am looking for a replacement engine undertray for my 2016 Volvo V40 D4. I heard some scraping while travelling home this morning so pulled up and checked and noticed it was cracked and hanging down so made a quick fix with cable ties.

I rang my go to garage and they said they will be able to take the tray off but advised me to try get a second hand one or an aftermarket replacement as a part direct from Volvo would be expensive. I have checked local scrap yards but none have any in.

Has anyone bought and fitted an aftermarket one? If so where did you get it?

Any help/info will be appreciated.

Cheers

Joe.

I would check with the dealer - they might not be as expensive as you think. I doubt there will be an aftermarket one.

Unfortunately flimsy under trays and weak self tapping screws into plastic plugs is one for Ford's quality downgrades enforced on Volvo's - P2 cars had fibreglass trays with anodised bolts into captive nuts on the subframe.

Hi.
I bought an aftermarket part May last year as ours went the same way as yours.
I got it from ebay .... Intercarparts_uk ebay no. 324244414071 .
No better or worse than the original though i do remember having to elongate a hole or two.
As Tannaton says it really is a cheap Ford bit of kit and the real weakness are the rubbish fixings. You will need a new fixings kit to be on the safe side. I found that Ford Focus , Mondeo , Galaxy and C-Max have the same fixings at a cheaper price.
