Default 2016 xc90

Hi
After owning 2007 Honda CR-V for almost 15 years I decided to move to Volvo. I don’t want to get in brand new so I found 2016 XC90 D5 with 71k miles. Is it worth to get in car of this age and what issues I can come across?

Hi, I too moved to Volvo after Lexus/Hyundai. I went with a D5 with 75k ish of the 2017 vintage. I have had it for 9 odd months. I like the car. For us with two kids and plans on staycations for next couple of years or driving holidays to France it is perfect. Great size and 7 seats. The in car experience is beautiful. I would also consider the Audi Q7 as a engine option. This diesel does a good job for how I drive and east motorway miles but Audi 3 litre one might interest folks. Between Audi and Volvo the safety features of intellisafe (saved me dents and more couple of times now) was the decision factor. Now I don’t know what to look out for in cars of this vintage but I would get a warranty. My Volvo had turbo and exhaust issues which the second hand dealer (big motoring world) resolved without quibble as the car was only 6 weeks in when they appeared as dreaded engine light. I also checked with the Volvo garage and they said it would be 4K to fix it. I also called the extended warranty people who were happy to pay for repair but not new turbo. In the end didn’t matter as was done for free. But it an expensive car to go wrong. On the other hand my Hyundai ran like a wounded soldier for years with all the warning lights lit up like Christmas tree in the final months - good car get the right spec (intellisafe key for me) and get warranty. Then like any other premium brand keep fingers crossed!!!
