I was driving a P3 XC70 today, I think it had around 150,000 miles and was a pre-facelift model.
The drivers door would not latch shut, no matter how hard you slammed it, but apart from that it felt pretty well built. They are somewhat odd cars because everything inside it feels massive, and the seats in my opinion were no more or less comfortable than a P2.
However the ambience of the P3 XC70 literally felt like you were sitting on a sofa that was raised up in the air, and enclosed in a big airy metal box. Almost didnt feel like a car. I work on a car yard with thousands of cars, and there is nothing on that yard that feels like a P3 XC70, even a couple of the latest V90s and XC90s dont have the same seating squishyness as the P3 and P2 Volvos, at least in the models I've driven, perhaps cushier seats are an option on newer cars.
Unfortunately, the steering is completely numb on the P3, just like in the P1 Ford Focus cars, which is irritating, becauase the P2 cars are actually a little bit more engaging to drive.
