Default Help!!!! ALARM NOT WORKING

I have recently bought a spanking 850T5 estate(1995).It is a thing of subtle power and elegance...but wait, there is a small fly in the ointment.
the remote alarm/central locking will not work.
I have done the obvious and changed the sender unit batteries but it is dead as the dodo.
My local Volvo garage want £50 to diagnose the fault, but i'm as tight as they come and want to sort it myself.
do any of the good people in volvoland have any tips as to where to start tinkering?
all ideas gratefully received!!!!!
many thanks.
Crazy Rob.

If you bought the car from a secondhand car dealer take it back to him and tell him to fix it. The car was fitted with it working when new so it had better be working secondhand, or else.

All the best, Peter.

Here, here what have you done!

When I got my first car (recovered after it was nicked) I fitted the alarm in the drivers foot well as I thought nobody was going to take any notice of it outside. Not the most legal thing I assume, but I felt better about leaving it.

The better ways of securing the car the better.....
