im looking for a dump valve cos i love the whoooosh sound lol. i called bailey motorsport and they said they dont do one for my s70 t5 and they believe i already have one as standard. called a few other companys one said blank off the original one and apply the dump valve of your choice but you will lose 10mpg and the other said you will lose alot of power. oh well no whoosh sound for me then

If you have the original Volvo (Mitsubishi) turbo, then you probably have a "re-circulating" valve, which means that instead of being vented to atmosphere (hence the "whooosh"), it's re-criculated instead. This needs to be blanked off. I think Don at Kalmar Union sells these. I know he did for my T4. You can then fit ANY atmospheric you like, although I've heard that the double spring variety are better than single springs. Who sells which I don't really know, but I have had a Blitz fitted to mine for nearly two years with no problems. It certainly didn't lose me 10mpg. My right foot does that nicely.

why would your fuel consumption and power be affected by a dump valve????

You'd only loose power if it was venting boost off all the time, which it shouldnt be.

And worse fuel consumption?? madness. its not a tuning tool!!!

blank off the dump valve thats on the turbo and fit an atmospheric one.

We do a Forge kit for the 850's and S/V70's.

RRP is £179.13 + p&p however.

Twin piston valves are better for cars with an AFM.

what year is your car mate, as i believe you can only fit them upto a certain age on the 70's due to a particular part not liking them (maybe the ETM ???)

i could be wrong but have a nagging feeling ive read it several times and you dont want to order a useless part.

150db! ouch! Mines loud but no where near that. Just enough to make people look round and then stare when they find its a volvo 700 making the noise.

its great!
