2011MY XC90

A couple of questions please for the people in the know:

1) The rear silver plastic bumper section that is under the main black bumper area - is it easy to get off without damaging clips etc? The car is black, wheels are black and just thinking the silver plastic looks out of place. Or is it best painted in situ?

2) The front bumper - there is a large metal component under the bumper - what exactly is it? Looks galvanised or aluminium - again looking to make it black. Easily removeable or paint in situ?

Thanks folks

Hi

The front bash plate is steel. It unbolts from underneath. You need to crawl under some of the bots are tricky to get to. It's awkward whilst you are under it so be careful it doesn't drop onto you. There is a knack to wriggling it out sliding up and forward. I painted mine with smooth hammerite after sanding it down. The rear plastic panel pulls off mine was all on clips as I had to cut a section out after retro fitting a volvo tow bar. No issues with that. The plastic is soft so if you rub it down to paint do it thoroughly as the blk will show up any crap prep work.
