Default Ipod Classic

I have an Ipod Classic connected via a USB lead. In my previous XC90 I had the same setup. The search facility on the V90 is much better but how do I get it to play all tracks by the same artist? For instance, I have 3 CD's loaded by an artist, I can find them by doing a search on the artist but it will only play 1 CD before it returns to the start. If I want to play all three, the only way I've found to do it is to disconnect the Ipod, select the artist, press play and then reconnect. On my XC90 I could just select the artist and it would play all their CD's. Can I do this on the V90?

I found the same with my iPod Nano. It worked with full functionality in my XC60 with the 'old Sensus' system, but with the new Sensus it would only play whatever was already selected. I think the older IOS is not compatible with the new Sensus. I bought a new iPod Touch which is running IOS 12 and it works seamlessly.
