The Japanese imports are identical in spec to the UK cars......some have the headlight wipers although most don't. Everything else is the same. A lot of the Japanese supplied T-5R saloons came with self-levelling suspension, which was an extra and normally just found on the estate.

All I'll say about Motorhub is this - Google them. And have a quick look at Companies House.

I was asking about that car and let's just say the answers made me a bit suspicious, lol. When something looks too good it usually is. All depends what you want it for and all that though, if you want to take a punt.

As for Jap imports in general, the problem isn't the fact they come from Japan. Jap cars in general tend to be well kept, low miles, and rust free.

As above the spec is exactly the same. Many don't have the headlight wipers but those are all but useless anyway, lol. Most will have jap satnav instead of the OEM headunit. But that's it.

The problem is the amount of, shall we say, less scrupulous importers...

The one thing to check with any Jap import is that the car was properly undersealed directly in import and hasn't been driven in the UK without.

So check the import paperwork for when the car was actually imported (you'll be surprised with some of the "cheaper" imports advertised). Get the paperwork for undersealing. And get pictures from under the car.

If those things are not forthcoming then walk away. No, actually, run away. Fast.

Thanks, that is a very useful bit of info, much appreciated. The 855 in question has been up for sale since last summer, the second one that was with it sold before Christmas I think.
There seem to be a lot of imports coming in, but mainly 850rs.

I will have to be patient and wait.

I'm sure all of the 850's were undersealed before leaving the factory in Belgium - it didn't seem to make a difference which market they were heading for.

I thought so too but the jury is out.

Just check to make sure, that's all.
