Default V70R Drivers Driveshaft. P/N 8252051

2004 V70R AWD manual 6 speed.
As above please. Item is on back order at Volvo, with no estimated time of manufacture/availability.
Current shaft is useless. No driveshaft - no car......

Considering all options.

Cheers
Bob

Hi look on flea bay - titan car parts have a replacement driveshaft with same part no for less than £180( ebay no 282233550033). Might not be a genuine volvo part but it doesn't cost an arm, both legs and your first born child, so it's probably worth a punt just to get you back on the road.

Cheers

Cheers John. Saw the advert but uncertainty anxiety held me back.....and it don't appear to look the same as my drives shaft which has a bearing on it...there were many different types.. the matching part number looked different. ..the matching appearance didn't match part number...
Cheers bob

I'd be tempted to message them - sometimes the ref numbers are wrong but sometimes they are the right part but in the advert they have used a generic image so you won't really know unless you get more information.
Failing buying new, there are driveshaft reconditioners who may be able to refurb yours for substantially less than a new one - some even offer a 'pick up and deliver' courier service - again its something you will need to check out to see if yours is repairable.
You could also try something like 'parts gateway' where one enquiry is sent to car breakers up and down the country who get back to you with quotes for used parts - if yours is discontinued at Volvo there may not be much other option.

I sympathise with your position - I'm currently looking for a new rear silencer for my 2006 XC70 which several advertisers list but when you look closer either the photos/illustrations don't match or the numbers relate to different models entirely!

Best of luck

John

Hi.

8252051 fits...
B5254 T2 with M58 AWD,
B5244 T3 with M58 AWD, both 2001 to 2007.

B5254 T4 with M66 AWD,
D5244 T with M66 AWD , both 2004 to 2007.

So you could search against a different vehicle rather than just the part no.
