You should only have to download once.
The update (install), will continue once you restart the car.

Thanks. That's what I expected, but for some reason didn't happen. I'll try again and hope I have some data left at the end of the process!

Unhappy How long does it take?

How long does it actually take to upload the map in the car? I've done everything as per the instruction on the Volvo website, then in the infotainment it was saying it takes up to 3 hours and 5 minutes to upload. I knew it would take long, but then I went with my car on a long drive, and after 2 hours it dropped only 10 minutes...... not to mention the occasional message telling me that the upload was put on pause and I should reinsert the USB stick to resume. After 5 days (roughly 5 hours of driving) I still have 1,5 hours left until the upload should finish and meanwhile I don't have a satnav, I can't connect my phone to my car to listen to music, not even to take calls.....

it can take a while, I did mine while car was not used, but kept going to check it or wake it up.

I would guess it can make a huge difference of how you are installing the update, a very Fast SD card would make it quicker.
