Default V50 1.6D - Completely dead

Hi all,
I've just come back from a holiday and the car had been sitting unused for 5 or 6 days. Went to use it today and unlocked it with the fob, got in.. then nothing. Completely dead. Tried to jumpstart it with the girlfriends car, but still nothing. No lights, nothing on the dash. I did however manage to get it to make a noise from the passenger footwell fuse box, a clicking/buzzing sound when I turned the side/headlight dial on. It stopped when I turned it off. Doors won't lock or anything.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

Edit - Replaced the battery maybe two years ago, but have had the low battery warning a couple of times recently whilst charging phones etc. Reckon it might be completely kaput?

It's very easy to not get as good a connection with jump leads as might think you have.
Check connections and ideally get hold of a multimeter as that would confirm or rule out problems very easily.

leave the jump leads connected for 10 minutes or so , the flat battery can suck up all the current otherwise and leave none for starting !

I did only leave it a couple of minutes, would the battery suck up enough juice still to not even power the pre-start up electrics (dash lights etc)?
