sanity prevails!
i have just read in the press, lancashire police are planning to install timers on many of its gatsos so as they are only activated at busy peroids when accidents are most likely to happen, they have also scrapped plans to install a further 100 gatso due to the high number of complaints received from the public!

RE: sanity prevails!
I LIVE IN LANCASHIRE SO THAT IS GOOD NEWS. HOWEVER, THEY REALLY NEED TO TAKE THE NEW CAMERA DOWN IN THE VILLAGE OF COPULL. IT IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF, AND OBSCURING, A LOW BRIDGE WARNING SIGN. ON A BAD BEND! JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT IT WAS SAFE ENOUGH TO THINK THEY GOT SOMETHING RIGHT............

RE: sanity prevails!
If you don't think it's sited correctly then complain to the powers that be.
They are supposed to be investigating incorrect sitings or so the minister said on the tele the other day. He said to the reporter that any complaints they get will be investigated (ha ha). You can but try I suppose. One thing with the cameras even if they are'nt on then they slow people down assuming they are sited in a visible spot of course. Vaughan |

RE: sanity prevails!
Please do not post in all capitals (upper case) as it is considered to be shouting. I am merely pointing out a small point of e-mail etiquette and not trying to be antagonistic so please don't flame back. All the best, Peter |

RE: sanity prevails!
I don't care either way for lower or upper case.
It's what he says that matters. Vaughan |

RE: sanity prevails!
Unfortunately Vaughan, it is not up to you but to all participants who consider netiquette to be just the expression of good manners, something sadly lacking in this modern world. I agree with your sentiment about what he says, but surely it is better said nicely than "shouting" which displays a lack of consideration. I was merely helping a new participant to show his responsibility for which he has expressed gratitude. I commend him for this. All the best, Peter |

RE: sanity prevails!
At last! The afore mentioned camera has been taken down. That didn't last long. Wonder how much money was wasted putting it up?
