Default XC90 Anti Skid Service Required

Hi fellow Volvo owners,
I have an XC90 2010 model and need some help please, I'm getting an intermittent display warning on the dash showing "anti-skid service required" it comes on normally when the car is in cold state, but once I have done a small journey and switch engine off and the set off again it disappears. What is the anti-skid service and is it a big job? What should I be expecting to pay to resolve?

Thanks in advance for any help?
Rob

Hi everyone,

I have just recently purchased a 2005 XC90 and I have the same anti-skid service message.

Any help with what this is and how to resolve it much appreciated!

Thanks

It's not a specific service so has no specific cost.
It's basically telling you that there's a data anamoly in the braking system so getting the code read would be the next step.
Beyond checking the tightness of the driveshaft bolts, there's little point in guessing.

I used to see this message intermittently; sometimes it would happen a couple of times a week, or it could be months between messages. It would always disappear on a restart.
Eventually it became permanent so I looked for the cause and discovered a broken abs reluctor ring.
Fixed easily: 2 rings £5 each and 45 minutes per side to replace.
