Default AC not blowing cold

So...
My AC has been dead for a while (2years), but was pointless fixing until i resolved some other climate issues which i have now done.

Today i re-gassed my AC my self, the clutch kicked in as there was some pressure to make it fire up again.
I then did a 30min dry run on my drive way while doing other maintenance, But the car never got cold it was pretty much the same as the air out side, i also did a 30min drive.

The AC was completely empty as i removed the compressor with no gas escaping at all. Tested and replaced..

As soon as i started putting gas in the system it was Pressurised in about 20seconds from being completely empty which thought a little strange.

As mentioned before the clutch fired up after gassing and continued to run but never got cold or close to cold.

I left the gauge on the AC with the engine running it stayed at pressure but never got cold.

I cant hear any leaks and everything electrically seems to be working.

Any ideas?????

go find a "quick fit" they do a/c recharge for £35 BUT its a "works or no fee" thing, so IF they find a fault or a leak they dont charge

Hi PeteChappers,

Have a read of my problem, it's under Volvo V50se 1.8 a/c not working, help please. as I have a/c not blowing cold even after fitting new a/c compressor and a/c receiver drier at great expense arrggghhh!!! I've now owned my car for 11/2yrsi don't know if it will help but worth checking your fuses and compressor actually works, clutch on side of it and do you need new a/c belt. I initially paid for 'Coolcar' air con from Birmingham send a more local to me qualified engineer of their company (£35 ) to come out to check my system and tell me what was wrong. He was to fix and get it all working there and then if possible, but unfortunately I needed to order a new belt, a/c compressor and receiver drier--- reasons explained in my call for help. Good luck. Kind regards Tracey

Over that amount of time you will now have normal atmospheric pressure in the system. It needs to be OFN pressure tested and vacuumed down for about 1 hour and then tested on holding vacuum. Get it done professionally or you will create more damage.
