Volvo c30 error code 232

Hi guys am new to this so please bare with me..... I have a 2009 Volvo C30 1.6D, recently the information light came on with a message saying “reduced engine performance” when this happens the car idles slightly higher then normal and while driving if I let my foot of the accelerator it will accelerate slightly in its own!

Any ideas what could be the cause of this?
