Default Double din fascia adaptor problems

I got a connects 2 fascia adaptor for my '06 xc70, however, the fit is bloody awful. it's about 3mm too wide where it meets the climate control panel and its too flat across the top.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a well made fascia panel adaptor to fit.
I have the steering wheel controls and parking beeper sorted and just need this to finish the installation.
Thanks.
Jim

That fascia is for the 01-04 model,
it changed after 05.
The steering wheel controls and parking beepers are done through the canbus network so you'll need a canbus interface to make them work.
I got mine from www.volvotech.eu and it works great.
They do one for the older model too.

witch facias you got?

There is a way to do the steering wheel and parking assist without using that interface...specially with that price. I will find the video or article, i have seen it before.

Well I don't know about the pre facelift models but the facelifted models all use the can network to send the signals from the parking module and the steering wheel module to the audio module(head unit).
Without something to interpret the codes off the network there's no way to get the steering controls unless you want to wire them direct, same goes for the parking sensors.
This is the type of fascia i need

Pre-facelift is the same, the signals are coded. There are a few replacement radios that have a built in interface which can be used directly, Blue Power being an example, for everything else you need the interface.

That's what I thought. I can say that the volvotech unit works and works well.
It comes with a small speaker/piezo for the reversing beeper.

So if the interface works with the Volvo system, why do you need the small speaker???. Shouldn't it work with existing system?.......

The parking system is easy to fix. just connect direct to R on the stick shift. Mine has a small speaker on the back under the main speaker on the right side. i just have to rewire it.....

Now the steering controls i have seen a video or article and they were using a 2001 or 2002 model. I will eventually find it. But i know there is a way.

Just wondering how you got on with your steering controls/parking assist?

Did you manage to find a way to wire them up without an interface?
