You could just send all your money to me if you want,,,at least you'll be sending it to a fellow Volvo owner.

Wink Dutch scammer

I was selling a LHD Renault Clio a couple of years ago on e-bay, a dodgey dutchman tried a very similar thing,he asked me to Put a buy it now ad in for him with the shipping cost included in the price(this made the car look ridiculously expensive to anyone in their right mind so i was sure that my potential buyer would be the only one to press the buy it now)
The deal was for him to meet me at the airport in person with the balance in cash, Hmm i thought, why does he want to pay me fror the shipping cost ? why not once you are here do it yourself? when asked this the excuse was" i speak english but cannot write english", fair enough, however the money offered if it was genuine left me hundreds more in pocket for the hassle of organising a transporter, ferry and transporter on the dutch side to Amsterdam.
so i set this deal up with a new genuine paypal a/c, with a newly opened hotmail e-mail address ,tied to a saver account i opened with new bank with a tenner in it, took his £ 300 deposit , and transfered it into the bank account and withdrew the money.
As expected i got the i cant meet you to sign the v5 document at the air port so just give me your bank details b***ocks e-mail a week later when he was supposed to pay the difference.
I told him to get lost and that i had spent their cash on daffodils.
Then followed a hilarious series of emails from a man who has learnt this valuble lesson "You can't kid the king of the kidders"
The point is that paypal won't re-fund on payments made for motor vehicles.
So take their initial legit deposit and scam them back.....
What goes around comes around.

I would actually select "BLOCK SENDER" in your e mail program. His e mails will automatically go into your deleted items folder without you ebver seeing them.

As mentioned sounds fishy, I would ignore it and avoid contact.

IMO, anytime I have bought a car, I travel in person, either pay cash or make arrangements to ensure funds can be arranged by a bankers draft etc. Never had any issues with this and sellers have always been happy to wait a few days whilst I get the bank drafts made if not paying cash.

Cool

I'm sure most of you are aware of the OTHER danger of buying a car......but just in case some of you haven't heard this one.

YOU go to see a vehicle that you have seen either online, in the paper or similar. Ebay ones are favourite for this.

The buyer insists on you paying him in cash. Nothing wrong with that, I do it myself. But think about it.

The seller KNOWS that you are coming to see the car and that you will have £***** either on you, or in your vehicle.

There have been several cases where the seller has had a rather large gentleman hanging about in the background. YOU are looking at a car that doesn't even belong to them, and they can and will MUG YOU for that cash!!

It's happened. so ALWAYS go with somebody else, and preferably NEVER take the cash with you. Park a little bit away from where you are going to meet, so that they have no idea how you have arrived, and make sure that the cash is well hidden. Only when you are 100% satisfied that everything is kosher....do the deal.

Be careful out there.

I always use DHL to collect and deliver cars, I just need a lot of cardboard to pack the cars up!

I have always agreed that should the vehicle be the one for me, I will happily put down a deposit and then make arrangements at the time to complete with cash/bank draft etc accordingly. No seller has ever objected to this.

Hi guys,
Well so far, after our reply to him of Not A Chance,
there has been no more contact. It looks as though he has the message that we know what he's up to.
Joe.

That's fine, but don't have any more contact or comminication with him, he's just after your bank details.
