Interesting, I was looking at one of those outlanders as my next car.

Re Mitsubishi If you plug in every night 20miles on electric ,Normal use 30mpg petrol 240 mile range ,Black Paint comes off easy leaving white primer.I complained to Mitsubishi after 3k they said chips I said paint flaking as it was not just the front.Same on others in the fleet .Back seats have good leg room .No room for spare with batteries underneath.carpet wears abit in footwell.£38k would not be spending my money on it.Parking cameras are good but no beep warning you if any of the car gets close to anything whilst staring at camera screen. It does drive nicely and smooth and not too wide for City driving.

Default High mileage 245 GL 1989

Purchased 5th July 1989 for £12,000. Delivery mileage 27.

Current mileage 662,157. B200E to 494,000mls. Then temporary engine B230E 168,157mls. Braydon Motors £265. Unknown history but said to be 160,000mls. Turned out to be a soft engine and I've had valve problems with it twice, as I run on LPG 100%. M47 gear box rebuilt 556,000 miles. Back axel slowly leaking oil. Has had oil seal renewed too.

A 230E engine is being rebuilt, bought off Ebay for £150. Currently in pieces. It will be hard to run on LPG.

As for current mileage. Its gone up considerately, since I took early retirement 11 years ago.

Weekly mileage is 800 to 1000 on average, 4 days a week as a volunteer. Last week 1012 miles. This is the Voluntery Car Service taking patients to hospitals over a wide area. Bristol, Birmingham and Portsmouth and every thing in between.

Love driving my 245. The older pateints like the Volvo and the smooth comfortable ride.

Bad tin-worm got me last September on the MOT. Very extensive at the rear, very expensive, though no sign on the outside. Metalic silver paint is in very good condition.

Plan is get to one million miles!! Onward and upward.

As few as reasonably practical. Sadly I have to pay for my own fuel.

Thanks biggbn.

A303, A34, M3, M27, and A338 home today. Total 297mls.

She is cruising just perfect.

Pateint Mary Ann said today, that was the best journey for months.

About 25k a year, the vast majority a commute, hence my constant ranting about motorways, roadworks and congestion.

But the XC60 is a nice high comfy place to suffer.

A few thousand on hire cars mainly in Scotland always remind me of how good my own car is even compared with various brands of new tin boxes.

I probably only do about 45 miles per week atm because my commute is really short, depends if I go anywhere at the weekend! Even less at the moment because I've been away for work alot.
