Default Speed Cameras?

It is some time since I have driven in the U.K. where there are fixed speed cameras.
In the past, I am sure that I got an audible as well as a visual warning of the cameras, but on this trip, I only seem to get the visual warning.
Has something changed, or am I cracking up?

I am on my way back home from Germany and I certainly got both, when driving in Europe.

I seem to get none in France since the update to the latest Sensus software and maps. (I am sure I got both audio and visual warnings before).

I do have speed cameras ticked - although I understand that it is not legal to have camera warnings in France so maybe that is automatic...?

NOTE
To get an acoustic warning if you exceed the required speed, the Speed Limit Warning function must be activated and the Road Sign Audio Warning subfunction must be set to On. An acoustic warning is then given if the car's speed exceeds the speed indicated by the RSI function in the driver display.

Information about speed cameras on the navigation map is not available for all markets/areas.

Change setting for acoustic warning as follows:

1
Select Settings->My Car->IntelliSafe->Road Sign Information in the centre display's top view.

2
Select/deselect Road Sign Audio Warning to activate/switch off the acoustic warning.

PS: don't know about UK- haven't tested yet but in France (and the rest of Europe proper..) I get the visual warning. I have disabled the audio warning.

I get the audible warning and flashing warning if I exceed the speed limit, but no audible warning regarding speed cameras, here in the U.K.

Camera sign and distance countdown in the UK. Then audible warning as you pass it. That’s HUD, Not sure what is on dashboard.

As far as I know, it is illegal to have speed camera warnings in France.

The Sensus software should disable the speed camera warnings whilst driving there.

It’s correct that speed camera warnings are not legal in France. There are, however, other ways of achieving the same end - and my TomTom warns me of ‘danger zones’ where cameras are / have been:
Quote:
Since 3rd January 2012, it has been illegal to receive warnings about the position of fixed or mobile speed cameras when you are driving in France. To be compliant with this change in French law, all types of speed camera locations and safety-related features are now reported as danger zones.
Good enough for me!

It is indeed illegal to have a device intended for the purpose of warning drivers of speed enforcement devices in France. In some cases drivers have had the car keys taken from them if caught. Reliance on such devices is dangerous as many areas now employ sophisticated mobile cameras capable of clocking you regardless of speed, direction of travel or lane. Furthermore they have now started to farm this out to civilians, meaning ANY car may now contain the equipment.
