Volvo 340 manufacturing date

Hi all,

Am trying to work out the date of manufacture or build date of my 1991 340.

I understand that it is one of the very last off the line, as it was registered right at the end of April and production had ceased in March.

Any ideas? Many thanks 😊

If you quoted the VIN to Volvo ought they not be able to identify the build date from their production records?

April 1991 would make it quite late, but there were a handful of 'J' plate cars registered later in that year. Not sure where you could get the 'official' data from though!

As John above says, ask Volvo. I find the parts chappies at my local dealer very helpful. With both my cars I asked them what options were specified when new and after a two minute look up they had all the info. Same with 'er indoors Mini Cooper. I asked the local dealer and again within two minutes I had a printed sheet with all the info. Interestingly the Mini has a sticker in the engine bay with the build date - May 2007.
