Wow. Mcgard sent you a kit to remove them? Can you send me the details as to how I go about getting this from them please?

I contacted their customer services department. I did originally gat a replacement key from them but one of the bits was damaged and broke it.

Another way of getting off a a locking wheel nut is to find a similar sized socket and bang it on. Then plug it into the socket set handle and whip it off.

A nice local tyre place did this method a few years ago when some dick at Kwik Fit screwed my key with a tyre gun.

Default NO luck with wheel bolts

Sooo... I have called my breakdown cover to come out and have a look at the locking wheel bolts and they tried to put on the dynamec on it and still had no luck...

I have now emailed McGard to go with owenfackrell's comment. Here's hoping.

I have tried ALL the garages near me and noone wants to have a go because of the amount of work it is going to take.

Wish I had a tyre place like yours! I can't find anyone who is willing to take this problem on. I have seen the socket trick on youtube but the problem is that there is no room for the socket in the alloy and the bolt!

I had this when someone tried to nic my alloys, the dealer welded a nut to the damaged McGard lock and wound it off that way ... seemingly it took 5 or 6 goes over 4 hrs as it kept breaking off (I know as I sat in reception and waited,) but they removed it ... Cost ... £85, ... they said they had only charged for 1hr, as they couldn't justify charging any more and I was a regular customer so £85 it was.

I've lived this nightmare, the security nuts were fused to the hubs, brought on by over tightening a year or two before I bought the car. By all accounts Volvos of this age are famous for it. Long story short, in my efforts to get them off I burned through 3 of those keys, all got chewed up and were too soft to loosen the bolts - heated or not.
This is what got them off for me - If you can chisel or drill the security washer that sits behind the flange (this is what protects the bolt from reverse thread socket style tools) then a helpful garage can get it off pretty quick with one of their hammer on reverse thread kits. It'll save you money if you get the washers off first.

To do this I got a bite into the washer with a cobalt tipped drill bit then hammered away at the washer with small steel chisels - fashioned them a little with a grinder so they slid past the offending bolt, the washers are actually quite brittle. I did damage one wheel a little in the process but they're pretty worn any way. Don't bother trying to drill the bolt out through the middle, they're too hard for DIY. There is a specialist firm in Surrey that visits garages to sort problems like this. FWIW. The welding method can certianly work if you have the kit and skills. Good luck

Default Locking wheelnuts stuck

UPDATE:

Ok had one more go with the Dynamec Kit (provided by the AA Breakdown Service) and managed to get three of the four out. The last one I think is a little too far gone but I am not giving up!
