Thinking about alternative venues for your proposed get-together, how about Whisby Nature Reserve near Lincoln? This is another very pleasant place to spend some time which also has both a large car park and a visitor centre with cafe / restaurant. There is also plenty there to entertain non car buffs for an hour or two.

I appreciate that this lies in the extreme North West of the area defined by 'Laird Scooby', but it is relatively close to Louth and North Lincolnshire. If it proved successful, and if, as Jon suggests, you then consider a rolling two monthly programme of events, you could perhaps alternate with a second location more convenient to those in the East and South of your patch?

As a bonus, Lincoln would still have the advantage of being accessible via the recently improved A46 for those living further afield who might also wish to join you.

Just thinking aloud and trying to be helpful!

Regards, John.

Do you remember that PaveHawk helicopter that went down in January a couple of years back? Got a photo of that as it took off on its last flight. Couldn't get pics of the others, they all were up, up and away too quickly but one really struggled and sounded wrong, even on take off.

Also seen Airforce One come in (unofficially) and take off from Lakenheath and also the Aurora TR3-B - still very hush-hush although the USA has had one in service since 1994 and YouTube is awash with videos of it in action.
The anti-gravity and warp-drive is pretty awesome to see!

I remember that, do you remember the B-17 crashing during the filming of Memphis Belle ? It was flying out of Binbrook and I saw it crash.

Seeing as it's only going to be 2-3 people, what about a Premier Inn..?

I feel sorry for you, you're clearly a loser and should have tried harder at school and made more of your life.

You're unable to make a positive contribution so why spoil the thread for the other contributors ?
