Default Nivomat rear suspension

Do XC90s have this type of rear suspension, like the v/xc70s have?
I know how costly they can be to replace on the xc70!

Thanks.

In Europe, yes. All of them, including the R-design / Sport model.

I have heard it said that this stems from the 7 seater configuration and the homologation requirements for the sale of such in Europe, which is why some vehicles built for sale in other markets (e.g. USA) didn't necessarily have them fitted as standard.

"So every xc90 in the uk have rear nivomats fitted."

Yes. I had my initial doubts about the Sport/R-design models, with their 'sport' chassis setup but every one I viewed was also Nivomat equipped. This would seem to make sense, given that they are 7 seaters and have a high towing capacity.

On the plus side, replacing them, should it become necessary, won't cost a fraction of what you will certainly end up spending on tyres, brake pads and disks and fuel during your ownership. Not to mention the 1001 other things that can and do happen to aging XC90s...

Without being facetious, it really is one of the last concerns you should be having, if you're considering buying one. Great cars, if you love them but nothing about owning one is inexpensive.

Feasible I guess but as you say, it would have happened after market, it wouldn't have been originally supplied like that.

Whether or not that was supposed to have been done is yet another matter.
