Default Strange shudder/ vibration

So on my way back from a very very long drive and testing the cars ability on German autobahns I noticed some strange behaviour shudder / vibration which occurs on these 2 instances but not always.

1: when I brake from speed I get a very strong front end vibration shake which is felt in my seat and front end of the vehicle but not steering wheel and sometimes it can be smooth no vibration so that rules out warped break discs as that would produce it every time.

Secondly when putting my foot down it does the same as above a strong shudder shake vibration felt in front end and seat but again on other occasions super smooth take off.

Also when at a slow speed braking and I get that shake I press down harder on brake peddle and it stabilises it.

Have a strong feeling it could be bushes rods or something similar any ideas apart from taking it to a suspension specialist to have it checked out?

Sat here waiting to board ferry as we speak.

Regards
Slapz

You are right Think I might give him a call and ask for his opinion .

Atleast he turned up instantly opened shop up on a Sunday and didn’t tell me F off and come back on Monday.

he didn’t take 5 hours to diagnose the issue and then add 20 other faults and try to fleece me out of more money knowing my situation when he clearly could.

Last but not least he didn’t feel the need to give me a sarcy comment when asked for advice as you just did.

Possibly dragging pads due to piston seals getting sticky.

I had that - car went through silly numbers of disks before it was found as they would always release, just not quite enough sometimes.

Very similar to your description - would vibrate on accelerating after breaking if you got them hot enough. Gentle braking would be fine at lower speeds, vibration only after they got warm. Braking from speed would start off smooth and then shake more as the miles built up.

The shake was always through the floor not the wheel, despite it going every time I replaced the front disks.

It wasn't a sarky comment. It was merely showing that I pay attention and was following your previous post with interest. Sadly (and confusingly) you took it completely the wrong way.

I have a similar shudder on my new to me first time Volvo driver and I drive a 2017 v60 cross country... I had it to my tech and he checked everything over and everything seems fine.. My shudder happens when I'm stopped at a light or stop sign and I press on the gas as I'm turning, I get a weird vibration/shudder sounds like back end. happens often but not always. Been researching trying to see if anyone else has this issue, Or is this a typical feeling for a Volvo?

Is this happening between 17 and 18mph by any chance? My previous XC90 and this one display this exact same trait and both cars new. Have read others with same finding. Doesnt always do it and you dont always have to be turning. Just how it is it seems.
