How NOT to remove egr from inlet manifold..
I thought that I wont need a help from carb cleaner or wd40 and I should be able to remove egr with little ressistance...... so I used small axe to remove it out...
here is the result soot acted like a sandpaper on rubber mat..... So boys and girls... if you don't have carb cleaner or wd40 you can use water as well to make soot fluidish ..... at least there was no oil or other stuff that shouldn't be there but I got this fixed without needing new egr valve |

Ouch and lol. You need to be patient with it. And if it still does not move you are better off removing exhaust manifold and apply lot of carb cleaner from inside

I forgot where I put rubber hammer, but I have small axe on the table so I took that, but anyway there is no air or oil leaks from there.

Hey up,
Do you need an EGR valve then? I think I've got a spare in my garage. Cheers, Daniel |

I still love it as a car and a shape of the car, but I don't love engine that much any more...
I have spent on engine the same amount of money as the car costed almost 8 months ago. ''Limp mode'' had returned for a few seconds(probably because of economical driving or change of oil pressure), but I knew what to do and I mange to fix it without stepping out of the car. It actually happened just before I had to stop before traffic lights in rush hour.... I will need some help in my next thread, with little help from other users it could become a sticky thread in S40 / V40 '96-'04 General section
