Mines the same though the rubber pipes are tucked just behind the bumper.

Hi Rob - I've just checked myself and it is actually all one piece of pipe - it just looks like a U connector as the mounting bracket has a rubber collar in it and the bend on the end is its original dull metal pipe colour (chrome foil wrap doesn't go round corners - so I just put it on the straight bits) - made me look though :-)

Oh well. Still think it would work to make your own when they finally go (they tend to rot under the mount rubbers). Thanks for looking anyway.
