Default D3 engine rattle

Just dropped stopped to drop someone off, and had my D3 with only 7000 ish miles on the clock with a very metallic rattle. It stopped after about 30 seconds or so... but even so Im a touch curious as to what it could be? any ideas?

I cant say I really want to drive it very far after that, even though repairs would be under warranty I dont appreciate being car less.

Its like having a leg cut off.

Thanks in advance.

Was the rattle connected to revs? If you pressed the -pedal, did it become more frequent?

Does it go away when you depress the clutch?
Plenty oil in?

Clutch was depressed at the time, I'd pulled up with my foot on the brake and clutch down. Yh plenty of oil, tend to check it every week.

Been out in it again since, not rattled like I said but the performance is dire. Just got no pull.
