Id5, Sir, you are a genius!

Can I quote (with or without name, your decision) your post re: your sons(Evoque), on main page, please?

I`m thinking this form:

Doesn't this go without saying... I guess they don't teach you that you should move out of the way of emergency vehicles anymore...
Id**:
You would have thought so wouldn't you, so I asked my sons and they all just looked at me as if I was mental. Then when I showed them the video they said it was obvious. Then when I asked them if they left space in front to form the corridor or were taught to leave space in front they realised that they hadn't been and didn't leave the space.

And for the next step...

To get some of these. This will take lots of time, so whilst site isn`t all that ready for it, I think the sooner i start the better.
of course the one below is a dud. 10 minutes in shotwell and libre draw apps. but it could look like this:

Default Update?

'Morning, Thomas, you've been a little quiet of late and I was just wondering how your campaign was going?

I saw a perfect example of this at work in Loughborough on Monday. I was in queuing traffic in the LH of two lanes on one side of a short dual carriageway when an ambulance on 'blues and twos' came down the middle, with everyone moving almost instinctively to one side or the other. He even found time to acknowledge us with a short double toot as he went round the island at the end and on his way.

Regards, John.

I've noticed Ambulances give a little toot nowadays in similar circumstances. I take my hat off to them as even when they must be concentrating their utmost, they still have time for a little thank you. It is a pity the rest of society cannot follow suit with the little courtesies.

Two points spring to mind:

1. It's illegal in Germany not to allow room for the emergency services when in stationary or very slow moving traffic. I'm guessing it will become so here, too, if not enough people are wise enough.

2. Much as I hate lane hoggers who wouldn't recognise a Highway Code if it bit them, I do not use the inside lane of a four-lane 'smart' motorway. It's legally 'careless driving' I know, but I'm actually taking extra care ...

Ahh so you are one of those people that likes to cause congestion nullifying the benefit of the extra lane?

Are you also one of those people that like to flash people when they are passed by cars legally using L1 as you tootle along in L2?

Until there’s a sea of brake lights, when everyone decides they need the least congested lane, which is usually lane 1......

No. I am normally going in excess of 'truck speed'. Also, I will pull into the nearside lane if someone needs me to, provided that I can see it's clear far enough ahead.

Absolutely not.

My point is, I believe a motorway should have a hard shoulder and feel that the 'smart' thing ain't smart enough yet.
