Hi Supra Edd, sorry about the delay in getting back to you. We had to prepare for, and then drive to Italy as we had found a buyer for my wife's village house. The update at Marshall's Peterborough works great. So many thanks to the work done by Victoria and the team. I almost questioned it when the system was confused by the completion of the A14 roadworks. It showed us travelling along the new road but wanted to divert us back on to the old road. And at the Italian end it still directed us (which I ignored for the diverted route) towards the Genoa bridge that collapsed 2 years ago (but reopens in time for our return journey at the end of August.). 1100 miles it was perfect so thanks again Victoria. Oh and by the way there was no charge for the upgrade - I only paid what had been quoted for the tyres and the coil repairs. A brilliant service.

My Volvo is 2014 V40 RDesign Lux. Although it was first registered in Sept 2014, I believe the Sensus system is the 2011 version - I don't know if that helps or adds to the confusion.

Did prompt me to put this wholly in the hands of the dealer though, so will report back anon.

Thanks Bill, great to hear you got yours sorted! mine is still on the blink! I will see if my dealer can contact Marshalls to see if they did anything special.

Regards,

Edd...

He already explained how they fixed it about 3 weeks ago... it was quite a smart idea. See post #81 (I tried to draw your attention to this a week or two ago back in post #99!)

Default More map updates problems

Hi all, I have read through all 11 pages on this subject of map update problems, but nothing seems to have worked for me.

I have an 64 plate XC60. I have downloaded the Sensus Navigation update today onto a FAT (windows) formatted USB (in fact I tried two different USB hard drives).

When I connect the USB in the car, nothing happens. I don't get a update message on the navigation screen. The car engine is running.

I looked at the setting screen on the navigation menu, and it says (under navigation memory) Free Space: 255MB, Percentage Left 99%.

My current map version loaded is 31396961 AA.

Any suggestions to help fix this?

you have to go to the dealer for a software update which will allow you to load the free maps from the volvo web site via USB stick

Did you follow the link to the Volvo website showing the different systems to identify which are user updateable?
