Am i right in thinking it will switch power off to the accessory socket immediately if the door is shut and locked?

Not certain about that. I'll check next time.

It didn't just now. Not sure how long it stayed on as it was chucking it down outside.

The 2018.5 MY online manual states if doors are not locked the 12v socket will stay live for 7 minutes after ignition turned off. Does also state they will lose power if doors locked though so functionality may have changed between model years perhaps if yours still live when does locked and full alarm is set ie not on ‘reduced guard’

Same for me ... About 3-5 minutes I think, just enough to stop it going into parking mode (if my PMP is off)

I run my dashcam from a micro usb cable connected to the OBD port under the dash on the driver side. You can buy these on eBay for around £10 and mine has a switch which will either cut the power 5 minutes after the ignition switches off (my choice) or you can leave it on permanently if you want to use the camera parking mode. I just run the cable under the dash across to the passenger side then up the B pillar and across to where camera sits at the top of the screen behind the passenger visor - it's hidden behind the rear view mirror from the drivers viewpoint.

Default Volvo approved dashcam

I enquired about dashcams and warranty as I’m collecting a new V60 soon. The initial reply from VCUK Customer relations was that none were approved and non genuine parts could invalidate my warranty (standard get out statement).

I replied pointing out the following:- ROADHAWK DC-2 DASH CAMERA - APPROVED BY VOLVO CARS. I have now had reply saying that the fitting of these by a Volvo dealership is okay.

To be honest I can't ever see a dash cam causing any issue with warranty - it interacts with nothing on the car apart from a 12v feed.

I suppose if something fried in the CCM module or like, they *could argue. But any sane person isn't going to have anything in the car remotely non-standard when it goes into the dealer :-)

Oh, and I've had no issues with the Intellisafe module so far....the unit is its own worst enemy anyway :-D Anyone had the brakes jam on when going round a bend fast with a car parked in front....makes you jump the first time!!

No, but with mine set on Fastest or whatever term is used it's quite twitchy and somewhat unpredictable. I've got a dashcam fitted but the unpredictability pre-dates it's fitting.
