Conscious it may not be sufficient for everyone, but those who only drive on the weekends could also simply use Three's sim, which gives 200mb of data every month, free.

This is an excellent price which includes VAT which can be reclaimed by any registered business user. £36.58+VAT. Doubt if anyone can beat that.

On a slightly different slant, now that my lovely XC90 has gone to the auction, I have a hardly used sim as above that I've no use for. Except that I have just ordered a MiFi type dongle, for about £30 so I don't waste the £35 to £40 paid for the sim. Oh dear!!!

Or they could just tether their car to their phone's wi-fi hotspot feature and use some of the phone's data allowance if that is sufficient. I used on average 1GB per month in the car but did not stream music.

£120/year is also overkill if you only use £40's worth of data [2 GM/month with the 24GB card, which is nearly twice the data I managed to use]

I was going to renew my sim with Vodafone but I’ve just checked online how much has been used , it’s only 5gb & ive 97 days left . I don’t use the car much , lockdown has had very little impact on my usage. In that 5gb I’ve updated the maps for Europe & Benelux on the move.
As you guys have pointed out Amazon 24gb for 2 yrs is the way to go.

Update, since our credit card is hardly being used I bought the Amazon sim, as you guys pointed out the price may go up. I’ll keep it in the glovebox until it needs changed, hopefully while we’re away on our holidays .

Yes. No charges. No issue whatsoever. It is immaculate though and I gave it a quick wash and hoover the day before.
This is the last I saw of it.

Got a full set of interior rubber mats and a set of immaculate 20" wheels with half worn Conti tyres left over.

The car is currently at Mannheim Auction centre and someone will be a very lucky new owner indeed.

You could always go to the auction. You might be able to buy it back for a fraction of what it would have cost to extend or buy out the lease. There are not that many people with money to buy luxuries at the moment. Hopefully your business will pick up quickly post lockdown as well.

Mannheim auctions are currently held on the internet I believe and they require a hefty registration and indemnity fee paid to join. I have asked a local garage which does trade with them, to bid for me if the price is right, for a commission, but heard nothing since. The car hasn’t moved off site yet. They have thousands of cars to auction from a massive backlog apparently, and they are rationing the volume auctioned in order to try and keep prices reasonably in line with expectations.

Do you think this would be enough data to support traffic info?
Currently I use bluetooth to play spotify from my phone, and have done map updates via memory stick...
