Amazon: - Amazon Grills...I guess this means my '64 needs newer style?

Bought a set of old style Amazon grills. Put them against the car to check size and fitment...and to my surprise the early grills I bought are too big for my '64 Amazon. Looks like my Amazon has had the later nose installed at some point? So late model grills are what I need?

Hi,
the grills you have (the rims are missing at the pictures) should fit the nose of a '64 Amazon, like they fit the noses of the later Amazon for these all have the bigger grills. The smaller (roughly similar) grills only fit the early noses (end 50's). So it seems that you have the early nose, not belonging to the '64 Amazon. Now you have the choise to buy the early smaller grills, or the right nose for your '64 for the bigger grills (all later noses will do, later ones have fixing lashes for the grills, but these can be removed without problems). For when you choose for the right nose for the '64, the nose you have now people will be interested in, I am also interested.

Thanks for clearing that up. I will let you know if I decide to swap noses on the car.
