Question Motor "stalling\chasing" at 1500-2000rpm

Hello all,

Have a 07mod S60 with the D5244 engine. Been running like a charm, but yesterday it started with stalling\chasing @1500 rpm, if i throtlle it more it becomes ok again @2000 rpm. Have diagnosed it with dice, and it says EGR position valve fault.
If we have the car still, and in nevtral (manual gearbox), it stalles, or start chasing around 1500, and is pases away @2000, sounds fine again. If we try to run the car, it starts "jumping" cause of the stalling \ chasing @1500 we cant run it. (or we can but it jumps)
If we disconnect flow sensor, or EGR, the engine goes into emergency mode, and there is no stalling, can run the car fine, but ofc, very litle motor power.
We changed the diesel fuel filter today, just to get that out of the way.
I can not imagine that the EGR, even if faulted, could cause such effect, any ideas ?

Thanks,
Best Regards
Jone
