Default Auto gearbox AW TF80 SC - Is this normal?

Hi all,

I recently purchased a 2012 V60 D5 Auto. I believe it will have the AW TF80SC 6 speed gearbox. The car has done 124,000 miles and runs brilliantly. The gearbox also seems to work well in the higher gears but is quite 'slushy?' in gears one and two. It seems the revs almost step down in stages in the lower gears, a bit like small gear changes.

As far as I know the box has never been serviced. Also, the car has not had a main dealer service since 2016 and so chances are it wont have had a software update since then. Does anyone know if there has been an update to the TF80SC since 2016?

This behaviour could be completely normal for all I know as I have not ever driven another Volvo with the same gearbox.

see what colour the oil is , if it looks browny or black change it and get a gearbox software upgrade and see how it goes .. there have been many gearbox software upgrades since then .
