Default Volvo Specialist in Dorset??

Hi all,

My S60 is due its 50k service very soon and I do not really want to pay the £350 odd quid that a dealer will charge. On the other hand I don't really want to take it to any tom dick or harry.

Does anyone know of a Volvo Specialist in the Blandford,Dorchester,Poole or Bournemouth sort of area?

Cheers

Depending on how near you are to Devon, there is B.J.S engineering near Honiton - 01404 549437 - very reasonable labour rates and full Volvo data access

mmmmmmmm in the long run may well be wise to stick with the main dealer , I dont think their unreasonable at all. With all the problems that you may have it certainly has saved me money with building a good relationship with the same main dealer .

May be worth thinking about anyway ?

Cheers

Default Independent Volvo dealer in Dorset

I have used (until I moved) First Choice in Hamworthy, Poole. Very good service, reasonable rates, and they used to work for Volvo and so know the cars. They also have the necessary Vardis computer to re-programme.

Paul, I also live in Dorset, how did you get on with your service?
Would you recommend any of the suggestions?

A bit of a bump, First Choice are still going and thanks to this thread I took my C70 there to have the brake fluid changed.

Drained, flushed, refilled and bled and the car was only there for 2 hours.

Cost? £43.33 which I thought was a good deal. The Boss man seems to know a bit about Volvo's which makes me feel happier as I don't know much myself having had the car for only 2 months

There was no "Teeth Sucking" and "Hmmm, needs new disc's, pads, wheels and an exhaust" crap which I found reassuring too

I use Al's Autos in sturminster marshall. They specialise in Volvos (only came across this site when I was googling their number) They have looked after my last two Volvos and always been very happy. They also stock second hand parts which has thankfully kept my bill down at times.

First choice seem to be a well kept secret around here but have an excellent reputation and have done exceptional work on a lot of local Volvos.

I've not tried them myself as I do my own servicing (and more often, other people's too lol) but a good reputation spreads like wildfire.

Perhaps a bit too far East for you, but Nomansland Garage are Volvo specialists and do a good no-nonsense job.
On the edge of the New Forest.

Holy thread resurrection...!!

I'm also on the lookout for a local Bournemouth/Poole based Volvo specialist that I can build a rapport with, that won't bleat on about indicators being not 'orange' enough etc etc .

Anyone know if either of the above recommended garages are still going strong?
I don't mind traveling a little bit for an approachable and down to earth garage to be honest - it's all about building trust.

Thanks in advance.
