Just plugging the switch will not gain you nothing...
Ok so as yours has no sunroof you can "canibalize" the white connector So leave in the connector the wires at position 5 and 2 as they are. From position 5 connect a wire also to position 4. Connect a wire to position 3 and a second to 6 and bring the end of the wires under the steering column near the 3 big connectors. There you need to connect them according to my scheme depending to what model year your car is (prior to 96 or newer). Try first if it works without cuting the wire, on some models it worked like that. If it will not LOCK then you need to cut |

one last question when connecting position 5 and 4 is it necessary to terminate wire 4 completely and join straight to wire 5 or can you leave it intact to the existing car wiring and just splice a new piece of wire between 4 and 5, this way making the modification easily reversible (am i making sense?) |

Guys,
Since I started this thread nearly a year ago, I have still not found a definitive way to do this mod. Could somebody please explain it to me in idiots terms, then I promise I will write a detailed write up of the process for other people to follow. I have a 1995 850 T-5R. I have a sunroof. I have no idea what the wiring diagrams are meant to show. Please explain. Thanks

Hi. I found mine ready behind the cover in my -96. But the wires used is Grey/Red and Blue/Pink and it unlocks both ways. Have tried to find the Yellow/Grey but can't find it. The wires are connected in the connector nearest the steering wheel in B (grey/red) and C (blue/pink). How can i fix this?

Hi. Have finally found the wires in 24/2 but it won't lock.
Doesn't these Lock Switches work on cars with deadlock? |

You can fit a lock/unlock switch to these . Just a few pointers. You want it to lock and not deadlock the car Unlock should not work unless you have keys in ignition so if your broken into the thief cant unlock it. I'm just about to go on holiday but will give you details when I get back.

I am thinking of fitting one of these but have two concerns.
The first is that I don't think I have any free switch positions, unless the one in the console would be suitable. The usual spare position is occupied by an antenna down switch. The other concern is that I don't have a remote for the car, so if I inadvertently arm the alarm I have no way to disarm it, is that likely to happen?

The switch will not arm the alarm. The switch simulates the door pin. So it is like when you push down the door pin with your hand (locking) and opening the door from the inside handle (unlocking).
It will only trigger the alarm if the car was locked from the outside with key or fob and you will open by pressing unlock. This is however a very unplausible scenario The right free switch position should be fine, this is where on LHD cars the gearbox switch is normaly located. Only on manual cars that position is not suitable as the gearshift mechanism is underneath |
