I'm not sure how it would be implemented but I think it would be a good idea if people entering the BKV could get feedback. Principally to see what could be improved on their cars.

I think it would be too difficult to do it on the actual day but perhaps the score sheets could be scanned and then emailed to respective members if requested.

On a more personal note - can you please stop sticking the S/V/C70's right at the back of the field?

Imagine a nice backdrop with maybe a banner"National BKV 2012 Thoresby Hall" and decent camera set up near the show field entrance. So if you want a nice glossy picture of your pride and joy marking the day then join the que and pay a small fee and picture arrives a few days later?
This is done very succesfully at the Landover Show at Billing - All the cars with permits (So exhibitors / people camping etc) get photographed as they drive down the access road to the showground, and there is a tent in the arena with preview images - if you want to have the image you can have it on cups/tshirts/mousemats/printed pictures etc etc. Its all printed onsite in the back of their van and takes about an hour for the more complex ones down to about 10 mins for the easy things like keyrings.
I'll grab the name of the company in a few weeks at the next show.

Prices aren't too bad either if I remember right.

Thanks for the info on the scoresheets - I never knew that.

The parking thing was a bit of a laugh. I appreciate it's down to field size/layout etc but for the past two years the S/V/C70's have been stuck in the back corner and we feel a bit left out lol. Please don't take that bit seriously.

Parking was a little strange - with the "Pre MOT" cars seemly dropped in the middle at random and the C30's between the 850s and V70 P1's. I'm sure there is a reason for it though!

A selection of pics I took are in the other thread ..

http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showpo...0&postcount=11

Didn't take many of individual cars - spent far too much time talking!

Is the clubs photographer able to put up a gallery of pictures somewhere we can view?

Smile photo,s

You should see all her pictures in next magazine, she is very good and will do photo,s of your car if requested at a cost,,as regards the score sheets you could e-mail one of the Directors to ask who has the scoresheets i have a feeling it could be Chris Wickers,,as regards the s40/70/parked in corner of the field ,it might be to keep you away from the other lumbering beasts on the field..Dont take that to heart my friend just jokeing...Itrust this helps regards sunnyvic

Just an idea but why don't we experiment with having the judging modified slightly. Each class of car is judged in the usual way for Best Kept Volvo as in best condition, fluid levels correct etc as it is Best Kept with winner and runner up. Then have each class also voted for by all members attending. Each person on entry is given a voting form for each class of car so they pic their favourite and runner up. This would also encourage everyone to have a good look at everyone's cars. Would get more people interacting and having conversations with each other.

Each class would have:

BKV Class Winner
BKV Class runner up
Members Class Winner
Members Class Runner up.

BKV Show Winner
Member Show Winner

That way then the BKV judges will have strict guidelines to follow and then the members can have their decision too. Should help to ease some of the comments you hear about judging not being fair. Be interesting to see the differences in what the judges think to the rest of the members.

Just an idea!

We tried the above idea at the V3M national 18months ago, I thought it worked very well. No idea on the larger scale, but there is normally only one way of finding out!

I'm sure there will be the odd one or two complaints still but personally the idea of a trophy awarded by members rather than one judge could be even more appealing as there are so many more people that would have to agree to get the result. Plus if say 30 people all vote for the same car then there cant be arguments really. Gotta be worth a trial at maybe the southern or northern BKV next year.
